Changing the view mode

The Documents, Folders, and What's new views can appear in several modes.

Each mode is useful to show different documents or properties as described in the following table.

Documents view modes
Mode Description

Default

Lists the documents that are contained in the selected folder and their attached files and URLs. A number of document property fields are shown: Number, Name, Version, Status, and Modified date.

Subdocs

Shows the subdocuments that are linked to the visible documents. Subdocuments are shown with subordinate branches (below the parent document and indented with connecting lines) similar to the files or URLs that are linked to documents. Available only for the Documents view.

Custom

Gives you the ability to choose which document properties you want to view in the document list as described in Configuring the Custom list mode.

Predefined

Configured by workspace administrators to show specific document properties in the selected folder. When different types of documents (for example, email, drawings, and so on) are stored in different folders, it can be useful to see different properties in each folder. Available only for the Documents view.

To change the view mode:

  1. In the ribbon, in the Show group, click the name of the mode that you want to see.
